Services for Children

  • Stuttering Therapy
Many children go through a stage between the ages of 2 and 5 when they stutter.  Stuttering may disappear by age four but in some cases it persists  as a child matures and is accompanied by facial or body movements.  Speech therapy is strongly recommended.  Treatment involves teaching slow easy speech, proper breathing, relaxation techniques and addressing emotional concerns.   Help is always beneficial and early remediation is desirable.

  • Voice Training to Reduce Vocal Nodules
Surgical treatment is usually not necessary when treating vocal nodules.  Learning to speak without damaging your vocal cords is essential to maintaining a voice quality that is pleasant and keeps you out of the doctor’s office.  You can keep your vocal cords healthy by learning a few simple techniques and the nodules will decrease in size and be eliminated in most cases.
